D.C. LARUE & M IS FOR MOTION -HOT JUNGL DRUMS & VOODOO RHYTHM

"Hot Jungle Drums and Voodoo Rhythm" D.C. LaRue & M Is For Motion

The fourth release off the upcoming album release, A Night At Studio M, M is For Motion pays homage to the iconic disco album, A Night at Studio 54. A Night At Studio M will reimagine many of disco’s greatest dance floor hits. Some still played on radio today, others only diehard discophiles will know. "Hot Jungle Drums and Voodoo Rhythm" is one of the standout tracks from the disco era, originally released in 1976 by American singer and producer D.C. LaRue and then on the A Night At Studio 54 soundtrack. "Hot Jungle Drums and Voodoo Rhythm" by D.C. LaRue and M Is For Motion is a rhythmic, high-energy anthem that encapsulates the wild, uninhibited spirit of the disco era. It combines the exotic with the sensual, the primal with the danceable, and continues to be a beloved classic in the world of disco.

The track itself is an infectious blend of funky beats, intense percussion, and an exotic jungle atmosphere, creating a sound that’s both rhythmic and hypnotic. The song's signature "jungle drums" and tribal-inspired beats evoke a sense of primal energy and intensity, while the "voodoo rhythm" adds a mystical element to the track, making it feel both sensual and daring.

The song's pulsating bassline is at the heart of its groove, keeping the tempo steady and driving forward. The use of brass, congas, and other percussion instruments creates a sense of urgency and heat, while LaRue's distinctive vocal delivery adds a layer of emotional intensity. The track is upbeat, dramatic, and filled with energy, making it perfect for the dance floor.

The lyrics tap into themes of mysticism, primal urges, and the irresistible pull of the rhythm. With references to voodoo and jungle imagery, the song feels like an invitation to surrender to the music’s magic. There’s an element of escapism in the lyrics, as the song transports listeners to a tropical, sensual world where rhythm and beats take precedence over everything else.

D.C. LaRue’s work, particularly with songs like this, was influential in helping shape the disco era, leading the genre into new territories. He embraced bold musical experimentation, mixing elements of glam, funk, and world music into a fresh, intoxicating blend that had both mainstream and underground appeal. His music was both a reflection of the era's hedonistic party culture and a precursor to the evolving sounds of the early 80s.

Mixes include DJ Industrial Badger, Rafael M, Nick Bertossi, and YuFreakah.
