Phoenix - Rise Up (30th Anniversary Mixes - incl. Desyfer and Cortona Remixes) - Tactal Hots Music
1995 was the golden age of Progressive House, and Phoenix, Rise Up was one of the tracks that defined that epic era. Championed by Sasha (featured on two Essential Mixes in 1995).
Phoenix was the duo of Spencer Hickson (now Desyfer) and Scott Latham (who sadly passed away). Thirty years on, this classic has been reimagined for today’s forward-thinking dancefloors by Desyfer and man of the moment Cortona.
Desyfer’s Remix drives forward with a deep, solid kick and a warm, rolling low-end bassline. Airy pads and evolving arpeggiated synths create hypnotic textures, building tension through wide pads, reverb-washed vocals, and soaring lead lines before dropping seamlessly back into the groove.
Cortona’s Remix channels the spirit of the ’90s with an epic, atmospheric intro. Percussion layers steadily build towards a mini-drop, unveiling filtered keys, dreamy pads, and shimmering gated textures. The breakdown swells into emotive keys and progressive breaks before locking into a full throttle heads down prog workout, a nine minute journey not to be missed.
Two remixes rooted in Progressive House DNA: long arcs, evolving synth motifs, and essential dancefloor moments, celebrating the past while propelling into the future.
