Chi Thanh - John Lennon

Chi Thanh is releasing his first new solo single 'John Lennon' after working on different projects the last couple of years. He is going back to his House Music roots and is excited to share his love for live instrumentation and darker Berlin beats mixed with euphoric and soulful vocals.

He has already released music on established labels in the past such as: DIYnamic, Get Physical, Blaufield, KI, Defected…. and has successfully worked behind the scenes as a writer/co-producer for artists like: Wankelmut, Joplyn, Booka Shade, Verboten Berlin, Chris Luno, Shouse etc. He is now getting ready to release his album “Melanphoria” in 2026 on his new imprint Halli Hallo Love.

The song starts out with a syncopated house groove which is very tom heavy and deep, while a subtle vocal chant keeps fading in. The main organ/piano line enters the stage and the percussion is building with shakers and also some cowbells. The main vocal choir starts and some light pads add to the hypnotic overall vibe before the breakdown.

A young extra choir is added in the break with some new chord changes and the song ramps up with some eerie, distorted synths before the track culminates in the main groove with heavy cowbell action and an active live sounding bassline that complements the main piano riff. After the final chorus vocals fade in and out the song grooves into the warm sunset.

As Chi Thanh puts it, “John Lennon and The Beatles have accompanied my musical life since early childhood, and especially in these trying times, I wanted to pay tribute in my own way. The universal message of love is needed now more than ever. Like my man John Lennon said: ‘All You Need Is Love.’”
