E.R. Thorpe - Disarray
This is 'Disarray' .. the second single to be taken from E.R.Thorpe's forthcoming debut LP 'Human Love'.
'Disarray' is a different side to Emma’s musical arsenal .. more psyche folk rock than the bitter sweetness of her previous single 'Human Love'.
Jim Baron of Crazy P produced the LP and here he dons his Ron Basejam cape to provide a superb, bass heavy, twisted electronic rework ..
E.R. Thorpe is a singer-songwriter and visual artist whose haunting sound blends poetic storytelling with raw emotional depth. Her music shows vulnerability and artistic intent, drawn from a life lived to the fullest. Rooted in storytelling, Thorpe’s artistry captures fleeting moments through songwriting, her voice, and evocative photography.
Emma’s 'Human Love' showcases the creative collaboration of Nottingham’s vibrant scene, as well as being the first foray into production by Jim Barron, features contributions from Huw Costin, Kev Bales (Spiritualized), Matt Klose (Crazy P) and renowned jazz bassist Simon Paterson.
Despite the acoustic roots there is a definite electronic connection to Emma’s work. A host of producers have eagerly volunteered to remix her work. St Etienne's Pete Wiggs, Nottingham legends Bent, Ron Basejam & Hot Toddy from Crazy P, Secret Soul Society and label boss Damian Harris (Generalisation) have all produced beautiful reworkings - all noting - that when you get parts as beautiful as this, it makes remixing a joy. They will see the light of day later this year.
E.R. Thorpe - 'Disarray' is released on the 26th February and the debut LP 'Human Love' is due for release on the 27th of March via Vicious Charm Recordings.
