Originally featured on the PRJKT-5 EP released via September Bloom, the first version of Ascension quickly became a standout track within South Africa’s underground electronic scene. Its hypnotic melodic hook resonated deeply with listeners, cementing its place as a crowd favorite.

Eager to evolve the track’s energy for dancefloors, FKA MASH returned with a heavier, club-ready edit, a version that took on a life of its own during its debut at the Keinemusik JHB edition in South Africa. As the signature melody rang out over the speakers, the crowd erupted in unison, instinctively singing along.

Recognizing the magic of the moment, FKA MASH captured the recording and later layered the audience’s voices into the track, a powerful chorus he now lovingly refers to as the "Glitch Gang Choir". The result is a reimagined Ascension that not only elevates the original but immortalizes a singular moment of connection between artist and audience.
