Max Candor & Sunaven - New Flowers
Out Of Border has built its name supporting artists at the start of something real, and Max Candor is exactly that: a new melodic electronic project stepping into the light for the first time with New Flowers.
Max Candor doesn't build concepts. He builds rooms you can stand in. His music starts from a state, not a statement: a feeling, a tension, something not yet named, slowly given shape until it becomes sound you can enter. He calls himself a witness more than a voice, someone who lets the living world in close, lets it move him, and translates what's left over into melody rather than argument. What grounds that world is the sense of everything as one continuous, breathing system, nature, people, the quiet imbalances between them, never named outright but always felt underneath. And running through it all is a single, deliberate tension he never resolves: control against surrender, stillness against pull, melancholy held just long enough to lift. He doesn't explain that duality. He lets you live inside it for the length of a track.
New Flowers is the clearest door into that world, and it arrives as a record full of hope and renewal. It was made with Sunaven, his life partner and closest creative collaborator, and the way it came together says as much about who Max Candor is as the song itself: no overthinking, no forcing it, a vocal and an instrumental that simply found each other. The melancholy that usually runs underneath his music is still here, but for once it opens upward instead of staying heavy, the same quiet turn the title describes: something that had closed, starting to grow back.
Underground in its roots, melodic house at its core, but carrying a hook open enough to catch listeners who'd never call themselves electronic music fans. Built for warm-up sets and peak time both, for a quiet drive as much as a packed floor at 2am.
New Flowers opens the first of a series of singles running through 2026, the body of work that will properly define who Max Candor is.
