Raphael Meleteas - Someone Else

Following the release of the title track last month, Greek multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Raphael Meleteas presents album 'Someone Else', released by Veego Records on September 25th 2026.

Entirely written, arranged, performed, recorded and mixed by Meleteas, Someone Else is a collection of cinematic compositions where orchestral textures, intimate melodies and analogue warmth come together in a deeply personal body of work. Every instrument heard throughout the album is performed by Meleteas himself, resulting in an organic recording that values atmosphere, melody and musical craftsmanship above all else.

Inspired by the rich tradition of orchestral pop, cinematic music and library recordings of the late 1960s and 1970s, the album looks beyond nostalgia, embracing those musical traditions through a contemporary perspective and a distinctive artistic voice.

Recorded in Athens, Greece between January and June 2025, Someone Else was composed and captured simultaneously, allowing each piece to develop naturally throughout the recording process. Rather than editing away every imperfection, Meleteas deliberately preserved the resonance of instruments, room ambience and everyday sounds, allowing the passage of time to become part of the record itself.

Predominantly instrumental, the album also features two vocal compositions — "Someone Else" and "May 19th" — drawing on the melodic language of late-1970s yacht rock and soft rock. Together, they expand the emotional landscape of the album while naturally complementing its cinematic character.

Moving through changing seasons, colours and moods, Someone Else unfolds like a continuous journey—at times expansive and cinematic, at others intimate and reflective. Rooted in a love for analogue-era recordings and timeless musical craftsmanship, Raphael Meleteas creates a musical world that feels both familiar and quietly distinctive.

RAPHAEL MELETEAS BIO
Raphael Meleteas is a Greek Keyboardist, multi instrumentalist and producer based in Athens. His involvement with music began at a very young age, starting classical piano lessons, while at the same time teaching himself to play the drums. Growing up with sounds from 70s classic rock albums, he began playing drums in small bands with his brother. In adolescence, he began to have an interest in jazz and orchestral music from around the world. After school, he studied at the jazz department of the Athens Conservatory, while at the same time he began playing piano and organ with several bands and small concerts. After his graduation, during the quarantine period, he began collecting instruments, composing and recording. Lately, he is a very active musician at the Athenian community , being a member of The Soul Peanuts and Televizio , playing concerts and recording with various local bands and having participated in several festivals around Greece and Europe.
