Tim French - Hold On (incl. Framewerk Remixes) - Music To Die For

Tim French makes his debut with ‘Hold On’, ably assisted on remix duties by the kings of prog breaks, Framewerk.



It’s been quite a journey for UK-based Tim French in the last few years. A DJ for over two decades, his production life has exploded with releases on Hooj Choons, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and a high-flying collaboration with Aubrey Fry on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat. 



Opening with ‘Hold On’ in original form, we are quickly introduced to Tim’s kaleidoscopic world of sparse percussion, solid kicks and a rubbery, evolving bassline from disco hell. The main break is an epic respite before the drop takes us ever more into the stratosphere.



On remix duties, fellow Brits Framewerk drop three variations. The ‘Full-on mix’ is dirty main room business choc-full of ear candy and detail, the ‘Close Your Eyes mix’ sees them in a contemplative mood, teasing out the melodics to great effect, while the ‘Poolside mix’ drops the tempo with gangly trip hop drums and floating acidy arps.
