Malixe & Oddly Godly – Close [BREAK ROOM Records]

Malixe and Oddly Godly sync up to unleash their stellar trap collab "Close," arriving as the next offering from BREAK ROOM Records.

Originally from LA but now causing a commotion out of Salt Lake City, Malixe has become an absolute menace in the bass scene from his ability to cycle through a range of sounds including trap, drum & bass, techno, dubstep UK garage, and beyond. US-based bass producer Oddly Godly has been creating a collection of strange and eccentric sounds marked by his dynamic range, with tracks covering trap, dubstep, drum & bass, and hardwave. The two versatile forces are linking up for their new collab on Insomniac's BREAK ROOM Records.

"Close" is a trap single veering into a more moody and melodic run pulling away from the hard-hitting moves from their playbook. Gentle breakbeat percussion and lush melodies lead its cinematic intro, welcoming in a pitched-up vocal hook that burns with passion while fluttering synths, discordant low-end pulses, and grumbling sub-bass. Malixe previously graced the label with his 'Dream of U" collab with Hex Cougar on the latter's recent 5-track 'Embody' EP.
