Something a little different here:

“After Armand Van Helden’s mix of ‘Professional Widow’ went nuclear, Tori Amos’ label, Atlantic, began to plan a remix album. I was producing under the name Gavo at the time and I got to do a mix of ‘Horses,’ one of my absolute favorite tracks from ‘Boys For Pele’.”

That album was ultimately shelved by the label, but Tori Amos fans bootlegged Gavin’s mix heavily. Good quality files still remain in demand by collectors, with fans campaigning on social media last year for Atlantic to schedule an official release.

Here, for the first time, we have full resolution remasters of Gavo’s Houseback Mix and the rarely heard DubBack Mix—these are the original 909- and 303-heavy 118 bpm ‘listening’ mixes done for the album—plus three brand new mixes from Gavin that transform elements from his original version to bring the track to a 2025 dance floor.

The ‘Deeper Mix’ is an updated full vocal take at 124 bpm that sticks to the original song structure.

The ‘Down In It Dub’ is pure 3 AM main room sweat and steam, for those who wonder what it’s like to ride a bucking horse.

The ‘Euphoria Dub’ raises the pace to a galloping 129 bpm for exhilarating festival vibes, fusing poignant synthwork and effervescent house piano.
