Pretty Sweet & Blvcksmith – Energy [Discovery Project]

Pretty Sweet and Blvcksmith release their new single "Energy," a deep and dark dubstep offering slated for release via Insomniac's Discovery Project label.

Based out of Salt Lake City, Pretty Sweet is an up-and-coming producer duo creating ear candy in the bass scene, with a sound that pulls elements from experimental dubstep, trap, wave and left-field bass. They are making their debut on Insomniac's Discovery Project label with their new single, joined by Portland producer Blvcksmith, an artist specializing in midtempo and dark dubstep.

"Energy" is a nasty dubstep joint, building around a menacing grime hip-hop vocal that packs a punch and feeds into the intensity of the guttural squawking leads, sub-bass growls, rubbery low-end and dark atmospherics. The track was the winning submission for the Discovery Project DJ / producer competition hosted for Forbidden Kingdom, selected by guest judge YDG. It earned Pretty Sweet the performance at the festival and a release on the label.
