Rubber People - Sleep At Night

"Rubber People’s knack for reworking a disco sample is second to none and here they once again deliver with an infectious, grooving house jam.

Set up by the nailed production and funky bassline, the infectious and hooky vocal line simply works it’s way not only into the tune, but into your head! Stylistically throwing back to the French filtered house sound that so heavily utilised the disco vibes that came before it, “Sleep At Night” keeps the flavour of that era and infuses a touch of 2024, resulting in a great and catchy house music tune for today’s dance floors!

As well as the Rubber People original, we add a slightly more laid-back house mix from DLE who accentuates the melodic vibes with a big piano line dropped over a slinky house bed. He also uses the hooky male vocal, dropping the energy back in the breakdown before returning with those trademark pianos… Summer here we come!

Vicious was born in 1992 and has stood strong and steady as the dance music industry has gone from a vinyl led underground movement to a global, digitally distributed and streamed phenomenon. In that time there have literally been hundreds of releases on the labels, the original imprint founded in a back yard shed out of a passion for the music…

That passion which is still vibrant if you talk to co-founders John Course and Andy Van, or any of the people that help make the label tick.

You simply don't make it through the turbulent times of the music industry without your heart being in it…

Some of the most notable artists who began their careers at Vicious include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, multiple ARIA and IDMA winning group Madison Avenue and Sgt Slick
