Keys N Krates feat. Afrique Like Me and 96Vibe - RUAFREAK
Toronto trio Keys N Krates mark a new chapter with the launch of their label, Odd Soul Sounds, debuting with RUAFREAK – an arresting club cut made in collaboration with afro-house collective Afrique Like Me and tribal house producer 96Vibe.
A percussive, warehouse-leaning groove built for heads-down moments at peak time, RUAFREAK captures the raw energy and cross-cultural roots that underpin the Odd Soul ethos. With hypnotic drums, a cheeky vocal hook, and Afro-Caribbean undercurrents, the track is both a dancefloor tool and a statement of intent – rough-edged, soulful, and unmistakably alive.
The track also serves as a calling card for Odd Soul Sounds, a new label born from Keys N Krates' party of the same name. Drawing on the spirit of tribal grooves, ’90s jackin’ house, hip-hop, R&B, and UK garage, the label aims to carve out space for groove-driven house music with heart. It’s less about genre and more about energy: music made for real people, in real moments, together.
Keys N Krates first broke out with their 2013 instrumental trap anthem Dum Dee Dum, but have since evolved into shape-shifting purveyors of groove-led dance music. Known for flipping dusty samples into joyous, off-kilter jams, the group channel their shared roots in hip-hop, soul, and disco into house music with a personality of its own.
