US producer REAPER is a looming figure standing tall at the gates of drum & bass music, poised not only to create a movement amongst the American dance scene but also to take the genre to new heights globally. Indonesia-born, Australia-based DON DARKOE is a flagbearer for the drum & bass community in his own right, intent on turning Asia into jump-up converts. They are releasing their new single via Bassrush Records, the final offering from REAPER's forthcoming third album.

Enlisting the talents of British topliner Adalaide Adams, "SUFFOCATING" is a drum & bass track balancing compelling songwriting with explosive dnb force. On the surface, Adams' angelic vocal tones are soothing to the soul, however, the overarching theme draws parallels between toxic love and oxygen deprivation. The perilous experience is conveyed sonically, with bright, upbeat synth melodies dissipating into violent bursts of stompy phrases smothered by distortion and blitzing techno drives.
