Kaiserdisco | KD RAW
Founded towards the end of 2011, Kaiserdisco’s KD Music imprint came after three years of increasing dancefloor dominance from the Patrick and Frederic´s partnership. KD Music became a natural advancement for the German pair whose global profile, built on producing two-well received LPs, remixing for Booka Shade, Robyn, Steve Lawler and Christian Smith, and putting out releases on Drumcode, Suara and Snatch!, has delighted continents of tech-house disciples.
Obeying the intuition of their ears and set up to give themselves and their personal favourites greater leverage, KD Music has grown into an imprint filled with experienced spinners, hungry ones-to-watch and Kaiserdisco’s sustained expertise. Its strength in depth flies the flag for international dance music, and has quickly notched a 50-strong back catalogue.
KD Raw, an imprint that’s all in the name, centres on the same quality that KD Music has long guaranteed from its Hamburg headquarters, whether that be from Kaiserdisco themselves, or global contributors either hot off the press or at the top of the house chain. With the focus now on techno pressure, the KD brand has extra revs and a bigger number of backsides to kick.
KD Raw clicked into gear with opening Kaiserdisco EP ‘Three Lions’ b/w ‘Fifth Element’. Alex Costa and Kasbah Zoo & OniWax, as well as a Raw Remix EP featuring Luca Agnelli, Arjun Vagale & Ramiro Lopez, have helped the fledgling label go hard and reflect the label’s distinctive artwork – an outstretched palm indicating that where techno is now concerned, the buck stops here.
