TRNSSTR are Smokin Jo & Pete Gleadall.

The pair have been producing tracks together for over 10 years, after a long studio break where Jo has been continuing to DJ, moving countries, plus training to be a Yoga Teacher and Pete has been touring with The Pet Shop Boys and producing various bands, they are back under their TRNSSTR moniker with some serious tech house stompers.

Smokin Jo is one of the most talented DJ’s to emerge from the British dance music scene, her undeniably cutting edge sound has carved her a niche in clubland.

Jo has had a truly successful career and over her 28 years behind the decks, she has played in pretty much every corner of the globe and in every major nightclub, you could care to mention. She is still the only female DJ to have ever won DJ magazines coveted DJ Of The Year Award.

After falling in love with early house music Pete started learning how to produce records and first released tracks in 1993 on Jules’ label Tomohawk (under the Forthright name) and also on Slip ‘N’ Slide with Clive Henry (under the H.A.L.F alias). Other H.A.L.F and Forthright releases soon followed for many labels including Cowboy, Pulse 8, Encore, Virgin and many more. As part of Forthright, Pete re-mixed many artists like George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, Byron Stingily and Redanka for example.

Pete has continued to produce and release records from his West London Studio, Hoedown City and his studio skills have made him an in-demand producer/engineer, working with many of the dance worlds top names like Danny Tenaglia, and Tom Stephan.
