French artist The Mekanism continues to prove that he is brimming with original ideas and plenty of studio skills on a slick new EP for Moan Recordings that also comes with a remix from minimal head Diego Kruse.

This is the latest in a long line of standout EPs from the Parisian on labels like No Art, Play It Say It, Robsoul Recordings and WHIPPIN, while as a DJ he has also held down residencies at Ants at Ushuaia and Hi Ibiza which make him a key part of the new school.

Little Thug is a rugged cut with rock solid kicks that will get the clubs attention. A knotted bassline and rapped vocals bring real energy and attitude to this one and ensure maximum destruction, while some lush synths mean it also has plenty of soul. Whoop is then a brilliantly contemporary deep house jam with long legged drums, vocal yelps and gorgeous chords that exude real warmth as the punchy drums do their thing.

Last of all, Diego Krause strips Little Thug back to a minimal groove with trippy synths and sci-fi effects, infectious drum loops and plenty of late night mischief.

This is another innovative EP from this house mainstay, who looks to have a big 2020 ahead of him.
